A few things to keep in mind as you choose your domain name…
1. Pick a domain that says what you do
Example: www.buildahouse.com This is sometimes better than matching the domain to the name of your company, although that is optimal if available.
2. Make it easy for people to remember
www.Financialplannerbusinessschool.com is going to be easier for someone to remember than www.company-fcbs.com. Don’t use hyphens and dont abbreviate your domain name, big ick. It is fine for a domain name to be longer if it is easy to remember.
3 .com or go home
It is in your best interest to choose a domain that ends in “.com”. there are lots of other options (.net, .org, .co.uk, .ca, etc) however most people will remember a .com over anything else. i will change my domain name before choosing anything other than a .com
A quick tip with repeat letters: For the domain www.financialconsultantbusinessschool.com – in the “business school” part, you have 3 “s’s” in a row there. Many people may type that as only 2 s’s… so be sure to also buy www.financialconsultantbusinesschool.com (with 2 s’s) and use it to redirect any URL misspellers to the correct site
