As an OBM part of our job is to manage the team – to make sure that stuff is getting done and to give folks a loving “nag” along the way as needed.
So what about our clients? There are times when we need to get stuff from them and they are falling behind – are you willing to nag your clients if need be?
I know some OBM’s feel a bit shy about this – they don’t want to bug their clients or upset them. You might think that your clients are really on top of things and have their reasons for being late with stuff. Not so… they need a loving nag from you as much as the team does. I remember talking to a business owner recently who literally said “I need my OBM to stay on top of me – give me a poke to get things done if I fall behind. I love that kind of accountability.”
So don’t be shy – our job is to ensure that stuff gets done, including stuff from our clients.
