Hey Doug, great question... does your friend want to hire someone to work for him virtually (ie: not come to his office) or does he need someone who can come into his office? If he wants someone virtual sounds like an OBM or a VA could be a good fit... different people work with different types of clients, not everyone is just "online only" based.

I have a friend who owns a psychological counseling/learning center. He would like to spend more time doing the psychological counseling and marketing side of the business, and is trying to find someone to take over the other aspects of running his business - office administration, accounting, billing, etc. He really needs someone to handle the office side of his business . Is this kinda what a OBM does? or is the OBM only for strictly Online type businesses?

OBMs on average charge anywhere from $50 - $75/hr, depending on their level of experience. Many OBMs are open to charging on the lower side of the hourly rate, with the option to add incentive to their overall compensation (percentage of sales or profits from the biz.) The beauty of incentive is that - as the business owner - you are only investing more in your OBM based on their support of the overall business growth.

Tina-
if an experienced VA costs $35-40/hour, how much does a certified OBM cost? Thanks.
