I had been accepting almost everyone, but I am developing some guidelines as to who I accept because I am getting so many invitations to events I'm not interested in that it's hard to find the important emails. I don't want to just stop the notices, because then I would miss things from the people I want to know about. It's tricky, but we're not friends with the world in real life. I just wish there was a way to post that upfront before people send you a request - like, "if you want to be FB friends, be sure to include a message with your request telling me why..."
