Thanks Tina, your 3 strikes guideline is smart. It provides a framework for learning workstyle preferences and communication difference. It probably can be worked out.
Something goes wrong once – it’s about coaching through and seeing what’s missing. Same thing goes wrong twice — more detail or training is necessary. Some checks and balances can be put in place. But same thing goes wrong three times may mean that there’s too big a gap in knowledge or fit.

Good idea to give three strikes. I also ask, Is it something that’s a character flaw or a learning issue? A character flaw is when someone has the attitude of not caring enough to be careful proofreading information or anticipating events. A learning issue is, for example, showing them how to think two steps ahead. Thanks for the great info.
